| Mattie B. Haney November 8, 1915 - July 26, 1999 This energetic woman of many talents not only presented her husband with four children, Geo. Jr., Joe, Mary and Jean Ann, but wore the may hats of homemaker, business-woman, friend, confidant, to mention a few. Mattie continued in the business she helped start until her retirement a few years ago. She was very involved in the American Business Women's Association, holding several offices, including President. The local Catholic Church, Silver Circle Society, enjoyed her numerous talents. Her always pleasant attitude is a wonder to behold. A very strong influence on her children, a beautiful lady in every sense of the word. |
Geo. M. Haney Sr. April 13, 1917 - March 22, 1967 Born in Texas City, Texas, George was a self-taught man, beginning his career in the refrigeration business, starting as a serviceman, he soon rose to the position of Service Manager of a large area company, the job he excelled in until taking over as head of UTMB physical plant in Galveston Texas. George and his wife Mattie, started their own business in 1952, called Haney Refrigeration. The business started by this energetic duo slowly took root and continues to operate in the Galveston County Texas trade area, almost fifty years later, under the corporate name of The Haney Company, Inc. d.b.a. Haney Air Conditioning. Strong willed and determined, his philosophy was simply "do it right the first time." |
"If my love for them could have keep them alive, they would have never died." |
